The answer then is,\u00a0<strong>NO<\/strong>, an employer cannot refuse to hire people with sleep apnea.\u00a0<\/p><\/div><\/div><div id=\"faq-question-1645031857680\" class=\"rank-math-list-item\"><h3 class=\"rank-math-question \">Can my Employer Fire Me if I have Sleep Apnea?<\/h3><div class=\"rank-math-answer \"><p>Due to the above amendment to the ADA, your employer must make reasonable accommodations for your disability, if applicable. And after 2008, you\u00a0<strong>cannot be fired<\/strong>\u00a0for simply having sleep apnea.\u00a0<\/p><p>However, and this is very important: you\u00a0<strong>can<\/strong>\u00a0be fired if you are not currently and effectively being treated for your sleep apnea!
