You can also use a vinegar\/water solution monthly (2 parts vinegar to 3 parts water) to disinfect these CPAP supplies, excluding the headgear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Water tank<\/strong> \u2013 This part should be cleaned with hot soapy water. Don\u2019t forget to rinse! Alternatively, you can use a solution of one part white distilled vinegar with five parts water. Like all CPAP supplies, it also needs to be allowed to air dry completely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Filters<\/strong> \u2013 You should always check with the manufacturer&#8217;s instructions as some filters can be rinsed, while others are disposable and must be replaced. Disposable filters may need to be changed monthly or every two weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cpaprx.com\/blogscategory\/cpap-therapy\">CPAP machine<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 The outer surface of the device can be wiped down with a damp cloth to remove any dust. This eliminates the concern of bacteria growth due to moisture (please refer to letting everything dry completely above, ahem). However, UV light is limited in its ability to reach certain areas and does not kill bacteria in the hose, machine, or water chamber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Wipes<\/strong> \u2013 There are wipes specifically made for use with CPAP machines. They are not able to clean inside the hose but make quick work of wiping down the surface areas on your machine and mask.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Activated oxygen<\/strong> \u2013 This gas is used in commercially available cleaners for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cpaprx.com\/blogscategory\/cpaprx\">CPAP equipment.<\/a> These cleaners can kill 99% of germs and are easy to use.
